The ELV Directive

In 2000 the End-of-Life EC Directive was fully adopted in the UK. This aims to prevent waste from end-of life vehicles(ELV's) and promote the collection, re-use and recycling of

their components to protect the environment.

What is ELV?

ELV refers to the End of Life of a Vehicle and includes any vehicle that has come to the end of it's usefult life. They can be put into two categories, Natural (normal wear and tear on

generally older vehicles) and Premature (arise due to accidental damage, flood, fire, theft and vandalism.

What is an ATF?

An ATF is an Authorised Treatment Facility for end of life vehicles. As a professional recycler Megavaux will provide you with a professional service when disposing of vehicle at our ATF site. You will need to produce a form of ID: driving licence or recent utility bill and V5 (log book) for the named vehicle.

One of our Technicians will then view the vehicle. Your vehicle should not contain refuse (additional tyres, garden waste) as this will incur additional charges.

We will the provide you with a certificate of destruction from the DVLA.
